I JUST CAME OUT TO MY FAMILY! :)
I JUST CAME OUT TO MY FAMILY! :)
MONSTERS!!!!! Something very amazing just happened.
I just came out to my family about being gay. I was very afraid and anxious about telling my mom more than anyone else for my entire life. On top of dealing with a life threatening case of TS, I had bottled up my true identity even though being gay does't define who I am, it's a pretty heavy weight to carry. After 18 years of hiding, I finally told my mom despite my nerves, and she after it all she said, "Just like Gaga says, you were born this way."
Thanks to Gaga, she eased the hardest thing I ever thought I was going to have to tell my family into something that after me blasting the entire BTW album all day, every day, something that my mom and family became comfortable, loving, and accepting with. For that I cannot ever repay Gaga or say thank you enough. She has saved me and given me the strength to fight on every day, to never give up, not to change for anyone, and to love myself for who I am. I've known I was born this way since I was born, it's not just something that happens.
My mom used to be some what homophobic which made me very afraid to tell her, but the message of Born This Way has gone past the point of help. It has not only given me the strength to find in myself that I have the right to love myself for who I am, but it also made my mom accepting and loving, and broadened her horizons to love even more. I don't know what I would do without Gaga, or where I'd be without her, but she was definitely put here for a reason, and that reason was to save lives, and expand others.
