I still lived in Michigan (NYC now, I blame Gaga for that too :p) but was lucky enough to get tickets to artRave from DJWS on twitter. It was the best night of my life. The room was electric. The food trucks were AMAZING, and the show was incredible. After the show we waited around cause we had an early morning flight and our phones were dead so we decided to kill time til we were kicked out. At about 3am Gaga came out (we all thought she was gone) and she sat down in front of the Koons statue and talked to the about 15 of us that were left. It was such a moment. I asked her what a Koons ball was and it was my first time meeting her. I’ll never forget the way she kept direct eye contact with me the entire time answering the question and how genuine and real that moment felt to me and all of us around. I went home, bought the album (that I definitely didn’t listen to the leak of) and tweeted the picture I took with the album in my hand (in the set above). She then liked it and followed me back. That was a huge deal 10 years ago and I just abiut fainted when it happened. I literally screamed and my grandma was so scared she was like what?! And I had to explain what happened 😂 in the years since I’ve had the best moments with this fan base and with Gaga. I’ve met her after shows and have seen her now 31 or 32 times (I honestly can’t keep count anymore 😂) I’m a flight attendant and got to meet her mom on one of my flights I was working back from London (coming back from her second night show of chromatica there) and had the best time with her and she found out my birthday was coming up and I didn’t have a ticket to her show which was the day before my birthday and got me a ticket to her NYC Chromatica show as a present (thank you mama Germ and the BTW FOUNDATION!!!) I have countless other stories and they’re all just so amazing. Gaga has always been my hero and helped me find myself in my skin in my pivotal years. I know she was going through a lot behind the scenes making this album but for a lot of us this time/music still holds such a damn special place in all of our hearts and I hope that all of our good memories wipe away all of the bad ones she had from then.
