I guess I just missed the whole Lady Gaga thing... Should I just listen to every album of hers in order of release? Please help me connect with Mother Monster. :)

You have to understand that the woman Lady Gaga, and Stefani Germanotta the actor, are two different people.
Her artwork is pop, so it makes use of creative expression which expands the definition of originality.
She is at her best, when she is playing a character that is not a real thing.

If I were you I'd start with The Fame and then go watch her music videos/performances/interviews from that era. She puts so much thought into her music and artistic vision it's really cool to hear her reasoning. I started off liking her music but watching her interviews really sold it for me! Have fun and enjoy!!
