A gay president would change the world, IIt would make all the gay people in the world feel so much better :'( If there is a gay president people would try to change and try to understand, caus they cant for normal people, those fucking motherfucking haters full of shit!

Well we did (at least it's highly speculated that he was) and it was James Buchanan (1857-1861). At that time there was no women's rights let alone gay rights. He did nothing to resolve any of those issues. Not to mention he also kinda let the American Civil War happen.

A gay president would not change SHIT. President Obama has tried to push for the gay community, but whatever he does has to go through Congress' approval and vice versa. It doesn't matter if the president is gay, straight, black, white, or blue, they will never be able to give you want you want with a snap of their fingers.

We just crossed the racial boundaries, and though I'm all for it if that person have some great political stances, it's going to be a while before we cross the sexual orientation boundaries.

Do u honestly believe a gay president will do a better job? There are so many other important issues involved in making a better country. What's the point of having equality if health, economy, environment, education, etc sucks. You'll feel worse.

I agree with you that a gay government/political officer would be great. Personally, maybe I'm different, but I vote for what the person's values are, etc. and not sexuality. We did have a senator in Congress that came, but I cannot remember his entire name. A first name of Barnie I think. Anyway, anyone who runs for any political office will be scrutinized severely no matter their sexuality. We have a lot of heavy right wingers. Remember, we just now have a black person in office. Let's see how many years has Lincoln's speech and voting rights for women and blacks been? Change takes time. Anthony, I sense your frustration. I don't care what color, sex, or sexual preference a person has, I look at the individual. It pains me to say that we still live in a society that shuns lots of different cultures and groups of people. I appreciate your boldness in your posting.

Just because a president is gay, dosn't mean that he/or she is a good president. What you need is a good, no matter sex, race or sexuality.
