Deep down I've always found that Artpop was a bit of a precursor to the hyperpop movement that arrived shortly after, due to the very present, heavy instrumentals, with overproduction.
so I would say that Artpop could have had its place in 2017

@solsol Interestingly hyperpop started around the same time during the ARTPOP era because Sophie is the one that started hyperpop genre. Definitely without a question that ARTPOP made a huge impact to the hyperpop artists & also visuals.
