Also, being creative in their own right and being signed to Gaga's label, Yolandi Zeffer was bound to get endless Gaga comparisons - flattering, but challenging in a music industry where you have to carve your own identity.
It's not that they denied Gaga in particular - they were signed to Interscope records, Lady Gaga's label (right?). They had creative differences with the label who wanted them to make more mainstream music, so they left the label and the touring deal was cancelled. I'm actually glad they did this, and made their own indie label, because it gives them more creative freedom - I hope Gaga can do something like this with her website and free herself the stresses of working for a major record company.
