Should i come out at school?

Next year in eighth grade I want to come out as a lesbian only to show people diversity and to be brave for other closeted kids and to show them that it's okay to be gay. Then I think that's a bad idea and I'll get bullied and lose my friends and have a bad school year. i don't know what to do and I would really love some advice on this, thanks monsters <3

I think you should :) this is why i love this sight and every little monster out their :) we are the change gaga wants with the born this way foundation and you coming out at school might also help others who are hiding who they truly want to be but feel they cant because of how society looks at gay people. paws up monster and never hide the person you are i did for most of my life but as soon as i came out it was the best feeling ever . some people didnt like it but at the end of the day you have to be true to yourself :) xx

I say yes only if you are strong enough to endure what comes next. It's gonna be hard, my friend, buy it'll be worth it! Maybe you'll lose some friends, but you'll meet some others who will make your world way better, I've been through that, and I can assure you that, although it's rough, it will set you free.
