And speaking of this period and your mentioning Van Gogh last week; there is a beautiful book "VvG - A Self-Portrait in Art & Letters" that contains deeply personal letters between V and his beloved brother Theo. It chronicles all of these letters, accompanied with the sketches and paintings they refer to. Very moving. From Vincent's July 1880 Letter - "Does what happens inside show on the outside?
